Immitation Poem

An Evening by Gwendolyn Brooks

A sunset's mounded cloud; 6
A diamond evening-star; 6
Sad blue hills afar; 5
Love in his shroud. 4

Scarcely a tear to shed; 6
Hardly a word to say; 6
The end of a summer day; 6
Sweet Love dead. 3

A Realization by Jennifer Reeb

he'd never been so proud;
never thought he'd come this far;
Thought that would have been it for the bar;
gone was the cloud.

he awoke and they said;
sir you need to go pray ;
there was a crash today;
your friend's dead
